The star of Roake, Ronan Vibert, receives his 'Best actor in a short film.' statuette awarded to him by the SOFIES Film Festival in New York.

Double Whammy in the Big Apple!
Roake had 6 nominations and picked up 2 prizes at the prestigeous SOFIE Film Festival in New York.
Best actor for our star, Ronan Vibert and best editing for Andy Sowerby.
Producers John and Shelagh Jessup were there to pick up the impressive statuettes.
New York! New York! is indeed a wonderful town.

Roake received 2 nominations for Best Director and Best Cinematography and much praise at the MALLORCA Film Awards.
Locals, Joan Cobos the Director, Juan Gonzálezthe  DOP and Producer, Laura Martin were there to to collect the plaudits from the cream of the Ballaerics film community.

Roake has been voted Best World Short at the prestigious Prato International Film Festival. Director, Joan Cobos was there to collect the prize.

Roake picked up the Best Cinematography award at the 9Film International Film Festival in Bangkok, another accolade for our marvellous D.O.P Juan Gonzalez.

Roake has scooped the award for Best International Short Film at the Linterna Ficu Film Festival!

Roake scooped awards for Best Sci-Fi short and for Best Actor, Ronan Vibert, at the Prestigious Genre Celebration Festival in Tokyo Japan!.

It also got nominations for Best director, Joan Cobos and Best cinematography, Juan Gonzales.

The film It's picked up 2 awards at the One-Reeler Film Festival in Los Angeles, for BEST Cinematography and The Award of Ecellence!

Roake hits the screen in Santo Domingo! It has been chosen to feature at the prestigious "Festival de cine Global Dominicano" One of the best festivals in the south American Continent. The same week Roake is hot stuff in Mexico!!
It’s to been selected for the Aurora Festival Internacional de Cine de Horror.

 

ROAKE ha sido seleccionado como MEJOR CORTOMETRAJE INTERNACIONAL en el 11º FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL DE CINE de FRENESÍ en COLOMBIA. Estamos muy orgullosos del premio que estrena el Continente Sudamericano.

Roake has won over the Judges at the London Independent Film Awards and received the prize for best Horror/Fantasy/Thriller short film, our seventh award so far. 

The Horrible Imagining Film Festival in San Diego California has given Roake 4 nominations, for Best dramatic short, Best Photography, Best Script and Best Actor for our star, Ronan Vibert.
That’s a great effort for our team as we were up against hundreds of other entrants.

As Roake was shortlisted at the Festival De Cinema in Menorca Spain, where the film had a special showing on the Illa del Rei in Mahon Harbour, the director Joan Cobos and producers Laura Martin-Martinez, Shelagh Jessup and John Jessup went to celebrate.

ROAKE was part of the official selection of Ibiza Short Film Festival. Now it has been shortlisted as one of the 5 shorts finalists for the International Film Festival in July.  

The selected shorts will receive post-production treatment at the IBIZA FILM LABS and then they will be brought together to create a feature film. More to come soon!

Zinezfest, is the latest Film Festival to fall under Roake's spell, they've awarded us the prize for the best short film! Thanks Zaragoza! and we absolutely love the original handwritten Jury paper!

ohn & ROAKE travelled to HAAPSALU Horror and Fantasy film festival in Estonia where it went down well with the enthusiastic and knowledgeable audience.It was part of the Official Selection "Europe in 19 minutes" a collection of the BEST european short films. We want to congratulate the Festival for the amazing program and a great atmosphere!

Roake is a wiz in Cadiz, the short film will be one of the highlights of the Ciudad de la Línea Film festival at the end of May 2018. We are happy to share this festival with "Grushenka" the short directed by our colleague Luis Ortas and produced by Joan.

Roake continued its world tour of the film festivals turning up this time at the Landshuter Kurzfilmfestival in Germany!

Joan Cobos, Laura Martin and John Jessup were asked to attend a press conference in Palencia in Spain to announce ROAKE winning BEST FILM and BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY(Joan González DOP, again!) at the "Terrorificamente Cortos" Film Festival there. They were looked after splendidly by the Festival founders and organizers, Ruben, Javier and Gorka. Muchas Gracias amigos, it was a real pleasure!

Joan Cobos, Laura Martín y John Jessup participaron en la conferencia de Prensa en Palencia, España, donde se anunció que ROAKE había resultado ganador del premio de Jurado a MEJOR CORTO y MEJOR FOTOGRAFÍA(Joan González DOP de nuevo!) en el Festival "Terroríficamente Cortos". Estuvieron estupendamente acompañados por los Fundadores y organizadores del Festival, Rubén, Javier y Gorka. Muchas Gracias amigos, fue un verdadero placer!

Roake has now won Best Cinematography award at the Fantastik Film Festival de Granollers in Spain. Not surprising as we had a brilliant DOP in Juan Gonzalez! Congrats Juanito and thanks for your amazing work!!

Roake is one of only 8 short films up for awards at the Abertoir Film Festival (see what they did there with the name) in Aberyswyth Wales. The awards include the coveted Méliès d'Argent prize for the best European short, as Roake would say "One picture is all you need, it's all I ever need."

To date we have been shortlisted at 12 film festivals across the globe, 8 of them are in Spain! There must be something about Roakes dark and mysterious story that appeals to the Spanish judges, viva España!

That is to say, Roake is currently showing at the Another Hole in The Head film festival in San Francisco.The festival is being held at the New Peoples Cinema pictured, and last year the attendance was 21,000.

After this one Roake will be at the aptly named Abertoir Festival in Aberystwyth Wales, bring it on!

Following up Roake's selection at the brilliant Kerry Film Festival, Executive Producer , John Jessup with his wife and Producer, Shelagh Jessup, braved hurricane force winds and torrential rain to support the film.

The bonus for their efforts was catching up with Festival Formula Director, Katie McCullough and Submissions Manager Ian Bignell, who are doing sterling work promoting our film.

Roake has started the festival career at the Offline film festival in Ireland.

The film has been selected for the Offical Competition.
